Date: August 17, 2013 (Saturday) Time: 10 am-4 pm
Breathtaking scenery enhances this annual adventure to the Big Springs rappelling area at Conkle's Hollow in Hocking Hills State Park. Whether you are a beginner on the ropes or a seasoned veteran, there will be something new for everyone on the cliffs. The great group of people drawn to this activity and our expert outfitter, Al Parker, will encourage you to move up to the next level of difficulty on the ropes at your own pace. The trip price includes use of climbing harnesses, carabineers, helmets, ropes, and several creation mini talks on geological features and wildlife in the Hocking Hills area.
Participants must be between 50 and 300 lbs. Parents are asked to evaluate their child's level of maturity and listening skills when deciding to have them participate as there are naturally inherent dangers on the cliffs. All attendees on the cliffs (even spectators) are required to make full payment due to insurance considerations.
The registration deadline is Thursday, August 1, 2013.
Monies are due with sign up.
Payments can be made securely online with PayPal using the "Buy Now" button below.
Payments can also be made over the telephone with a credit card by calling the Science Center at 330-665-DINO (3466) during our office hours. To pay with a check, please remit to "Akron Fossils & Science Center." Cancelations due to severe weather will be the judgment call of Al Parker and rain dates, if necessary, will be chosen by the group. Please note that some light rain during the day is normal for this area.
Printed and signed release forms must be mailed to:
