Our Science Adventure Club! (SAC) classes are designed for Elementary and Middle School students with a desire to learn about God’s creation. The class features hands-on activities that demonstrate exciting science themes. Our classes give students an opportunity to take an active part in our Vier’s Ditch Research Project with our resident biologist and science teacher, Cindy Julius.
Because our Vier's Ditch research takes place outside around the creek, please have your child dress for the weather. Be prepared to get dirty!
Mandatory RSVP
Call the teacher, Cindy Julius, at 330-665-DINO (3466) or send her an e-mail in order to attend the class.
Note to Parents
The projects will be supervised by our adult staff. Please be prompt in picking up your children after the event. Portions of many of our classes take place outdoors so please have your child dress accordingly.
How Can I Join the Club?
It's easy. Register for one class or for the whole month or for the whole school year by sending an e-mail to the teacher, Cindy Julius.
Do I Have to Come to Every Class?
No. The amount of time you attend is entirely up to your personal interest. You can check our monthly topics (below), find the ones that interest you, and register accordingly.
What is a Unity Study?
Studying a specific topic for a certain period of time is sometimes referred to as a unit study. Each week students work on a science lesson and take-home project related to the monthly topic/unit study.
Questions?
Please contact our Science Adventure Club teacher and Education Director, Cindy Julius. You can contact Cindy by e-mail or by telephone at 330-665-DINO (3466).

May 2012
Sedimentary Rock Formation & Fossil Replica Making
Rock Formation - How do rocks get layered? Come repeat Guy Berthault's experiments with our sedimentation tank and watch multiple layers form. This is a messy, fun learning activity.
Fossil Replicas - Paint your own authentic copy of dinosaur skin. Other "paint your own" replicas will be available for an extra fee depending on the replica you choose. Some of the replica casts we will be making are available for purchase (in final form) in our gift shop.
June-August 2012
Summer Classes
Classes during the summer are by appointment only.
Other Topics
-
Changes in Vier's Ditch Creek - The creek in Truassic Park is scheduled to be dredged. What animals currently live in the ditch? Who will be affected by the dredging? What is at the bottom of the Vier's Ditch Creek anyhow? How do we measure how fast the creek is flowing at now? How do we check for water clarity?
-
Rocks & Minerals - We have lots of minerals and rocks to share as well as our sedimentation tank to look at how layers are formed in moving water. This class is great for those hot days.
- Suggest a Topic - Science Adventure Club also lets YOU bring in items of interest to learn more about. Our adventure club students are a special breed - always thinking - always having lots of questions - always sharing rocks, skulls and more with the other students and the teacher. Call or e-mail teacher Cindy Julius to suggest a topic.
