2016 Participation Guidelines:


Step 1: Read the Proceedings Booklet

  • Download a copy of the Proceedings Booklet and choose a category. All the rules for your category are in the Proceedings Booklet. 

Step 2: Submit Your Notification of Participation by April 30, 2016

Step 3: Submit Payment by May 07, 2016

  • Payment - Individual Entries $20, Group Project  $35,  Maximum per family $50.  Payments can be made in person using cash, check, or credit card; over the telephone with a credit card (330) 665-DINO (3466); or through the mail by check payable to Akron Fossils.

Step 4: Present Your Project to Judges at the Fair on Saturday, May 14, 2016

  • Project Set Up - Set up will be between 10 and 11:30 am. 
  • Judging - Judging will begin at 11:30p.m. All participants are required to give a summary of their project to the judges and be able to answer the judges' questions.
  • Awards Ceremony - The awards ceremony will begin at 4:30p.m. Prizes and award certificates for all other winners will follow.

Entry Categories

Each project must fall into one of the categories below and exemplify one of the science fair’s Objectives. Detailed rules for each category are in the Proceedings Booklet.

  • Experiments - Operational Science
  • Data Assessment – Historical Research
  • Data Collections - Research Compilation
  • Data Representation – Communicating Science


The objective of this science fair is to honor the Creator by acknowledging and giving witness to the presence of design in the created world, by seeking to continually discover and appreciate the fundamental laws of the universe which He set in place, and by bringing to light the data consistent with a history of both man and the earth that is revealed in the Scriptures.  Secondly, this science fair is for the purpose of encouraging and showcasing clearly presented and accurately explored scientific inquiries that have met this objective.

2016 Prizes

Each project will be judged on its ability to excel in criteria applicable to its category.  A first, second and third place prize will be presented as well as certificates of participation.  Please note: group entries will receive one group prize. Prizes awarded last year included Creation Museum tickets, Akron Zoo tickets, DVDs, games, books, and toys.
